Although reservations have sovereignty over state jurisdiction, Texas has fought fiercely in courts for decades to shut down each of the three casinos. The federal government has authorized three federally-recognized tribes in Texas to build and operate casinos on reservation lands under the U.S.
Minimum gambling ages are 21 years old for casinos, 21 for poker, 18 for bingo, 21 for horse racing, 18 for the lottery.
